Thomas Pedersen

Thomas Pedersen was born sometime around 1621 on the farm named Vintenlund in the parish of Tamdrup. His father was Peder Thomsen Dall.
About the year of 1651 he married Elisabeth Jacobsdatter. She was the widow of Holger Andersen Gron who was the copyholder of Tamdrup Bisgaard.  He had died in 1650. Thomas Pedersen took over the copyhold of Tamdrup Bisgaard, when he married Elisabeth Jacobsdatter.
Elisabeth Jacobsdatter died in 1678.  Thomas Pedersen was then 57 years old.  There were no children in their marriage.
Thomas Pedersen was betrothed to Inger Biørnsdatter on September 23, 1679, but that marriage was not long. Inger died in childbirth in 1680 and was buried with her child.
In 1681 Thomas Pedrsen married Karen Hansdatter. They had one child during their marriage. The child, a daughter, was born in 1682. They named her Inger Elsebeth Thomasdatter.  She was named after her fathers two first wives.
On September 23, 1672 Thomas Pedersen was appointed to be “Herredsfoged”
[1] of the district of Nim herred. In 1688 the “Nim herred” and the “Voer herred” merged into Voer-Nim herred, and then Thomas Pedersen became redundant. Instead he became “birkedommer”[2] in the Birk of Stensballegaard.  This job was not as prominent as being a “herredsfoged”.
He died in 1700 in Kalhave in the parish of Hornborg, and the parish register tells us that he was “a good and honest and faithful man who died in his seventy ninth year and was buried in the church of Tamdrup”. He was buried inside the church just like his three wives.
