Terkel Sorensen

Terkel Sorensen was born around 1590 and he probably died in 1650. In any case his tax payments stopped in 1650. It is believed that his father was Soren Terkelsen.
He was a freeholder and had a big farm in Kalhave in Hornborg from 1617 to 1650. From 1616 to 1621 there was no “landgilde”[1] paid because of expenses to the Danish military. The size of the farm was hartkorn 11 tdr. 3 skp. 3fjk.

The name of Terkel Sorensen’s wife is not known, but from the parish register we know, that the mother of Anders Therkildsen from Kalhave was buried in the churchyard of Hornborg on Dominica Judica 1675 (= 5. Sunday after Shrovetide).
