Soren Mortensen

Soren Mortensen took over as freeholder of Nottrupgaard from his father Morten Seffrensen and took over as “herredsfoged”[1] as well. He had this job from 1649 to 1687.
In the first Danish land register from 1664 it is stated that Soeffren (=Soren) Mortensen was “herredsfoged and a freeholder of Nottrup[gaard]”.
In the next Danish land register from 1688 we see that Soeffren Mortensen was still a freeholder of Nottrupggard.
We know three of his sons: Morten Sorensen who took over the farm from his father, Jorgen Sorensen and Hans Sorensen (the older Hans Sorensen living in Kleis).
