Nille Cathrine Jorgensdatter

Nille Cathrine Jorgensdatter was born in the parish of Urlev.  She was christened on January 10, 1762. Her parents were Jorgen Mortensen Winther and Ellen Margrethe Michelsdatter. Her godfathers were Jochum Frederiksen from Gram, Mads Michelsen from Hedensted and Jens Larsen from Urlev.  Her godmothers were the wives of Jens Frederiksen from Brandstub, Soren Hansen from Sdr. Aldum and Jens Madsen from Raarup.
Nille Cathrine was betrothed to Mads Andersen on March 8, 1782 and were married in the church of Urlev on April 5, 1782. Mads died on January 1820.  In 1827 their daughter Elsebeth died.  Nille Cathrine took care of Elsebeth’s son Mads Jensen who was then 7 years old. Around the year 1829 both Nille Cathrine and her grandson moved in with Nille Cathrine’s son, Anders Madsen who lived in Raarup. The census records from 1834 reads that Nille Cathrine Jorgensdatter, as well as Mads Jensen were living in Raarup. Nille Cathrine died from elderly dementia on December 21, 1846.  She was buried in the churchyard of Raarup on December 29, 1846.
The document telling about the administration of her estate is found in the manor archive of Boller-Mogelkjaer. Her will and her pension contract were dated March 10, 1826.  It says that her son, Anders Madsen would inherit everything she left behind but in return, he was to pay for her funeral expenses.
