Jorgen Mortensen Winther

Jorgen Mortensen Winther, colloquially called Jorgen Winther, was probably born in 1738 in Blaesbjerg and in the parish of Raarup. The parish register from Raarup only exists from 1751, so we are not able to find the exact date.
His parents were Morten Jorgensen Winther and Nille Cathrine Friederichsdatter Glaso.
Jorgen married Ellen Margrethe Michelsdatter from Hedensted on June 25, 1760, less than a month after they had been betrothed on May 28, 1760.
Undoubtedly they established themselves on the farm in Urlev with Jorgen’s father Morten Jorgensen Winther. His mother died about the time of the wedding of Jorgen and Ellen Margrethe. The parish register lacks the pages for that period in time so we do not have the exact date.
Their children were: Nille Cathrine (christened 1/10/1762), Anna (christened 10/16/1763), Morten (christened 10/26/1766-buried 5/9/1773), Michel (christened 2/12/1769), Anders (christened 1771 – the date is indistinct in the parish register-buried 5/2/1779) and Jorgen (not found in the parish register but elsewhere).
Jorgen Mortensen Winther was 34 years old when he died.  He was buried in the churchyard of Urlev on July 24, 1772.
