Jens Jorgensen

Jens Jorgensen was born about 1769. His parents were Jorgen Mortensen Fynboe and Birthe Jensdatter, who lived in Breth in the parish of Barrit. His christening date is not found in the parish register of Barrit nor is he is found living with his parents in the census record from 1787.
Jens Jorgensen married Maren Jorgensdatter from Breth in the church of Barrit on October 27, 1797. She was a widow and she had three children with Jens Jorgensen: Birthe Jensdatter  (christened March 2, 1799), Soren Jensen (born April 19, 1801) and Ellen Jensdatter (born Feb. 16, 1805). Like his father, Jens Jorgensen was called Fynboe. At least he is seen as Jens Fynboe in a list of godfathers from 1804.
A census paper from1834 states that Jens Jorgensen’s children Soren and Ellen, were living with their parents in that year.   Jens Jorgensen died on June 21, 1838.   He was buried in the churchyard of Barrit on June 28, 1838.
