Birthe Jensdatter

Birthe Jensdatter was born and christened in her parent’s home in Breth in the parish of Barrit on March 2, 1799. Her parents were Jens Jorgensen and Maren Jorgensdatter.  Birthe was named after her paternal grandmother.  Her christening was confirmed in the church of Barrit on April 7, of the same year. Her godmother was Lene Mortensdatter from Klakring – probably a relative (perhaps a sister) to her paternal grandfather.  She was married in the church of Barrit on October 30, 1827 to Anders Madsen from Hornum, and they had five children: Maren Andersdatter (born 10/1/1828, died 7/27/1880), Jens Andersen (born 1830, died 1839), Mads Andersen (born 5/31/1833, died 4/7/1910), Soren Andersen (born 4/26/1836) and Jens Andersen(born 1841).
Birthe Jensdatter died April 16, 1860 and was buried in the churchyard of Raarup on April 24, 1860.
