Birthe Jensdatter

Birthe Jensdatter was christened on August 28, 1746 in the church of Barrit. Her father was Jens Hansen Smed.
She married Peder Rasmussen, a widow from Breth, in the church of Barrit on December 16, 1763. They had a daughter Mette (christened 10/7/1764. Peder Rasmussen died in June 1765. On March 25, 1766 Birthe Jensdatter married Jorgen Mortensen Fynboe, but she also survived him (he died in May 1799). She continued running the farm with the help of two grown-up sons. The census paper from 1801 tells us, that the family had a farmhand and a maid to help them on the farm.  Birthe Jensdatter’s grandchild and her elderly father also lived there.
Birthe Jensdatter died on May 25, 1812 at the age of 66.  She was buried in the churchyard of Barrit on May 30, 1812.
